Photos

These photos are a few examples of the achievements of FLO (Fondation Lucie Otaenga), with most of the photos taken by Ken Kobre. The following photos are from a sewing school, one of their income generating projects

Free uniforms being made by the sewing school for healthcare workers. FLO’s vice president, Pastor Antoinette Mapele, can be seen holding one of the children’s school uniforms, which are also made by the sewing school.

A woman undergoing an appendicitis operation, with healthcare workers wearing uniforms made by FLO.

School children wearing uniforms provided by FLO’s sewing school.

The community store will stock and supply schooling essentials.

The hospital maternity ward. FLO’s income-generating projects provide bed nets and new baby outfits for women in this ward.

The previously purchased FLO canoe (painted red to discourage theft!). The grant money will go towards purchasing another canoe of this sort, to supplement and expand the grassroots women’s organisation’s initiatives. The 400-km journey from the provincial capital can take 7 days, unless the canoe is motorised
